Mantra Meditation & Mala Making Workshop

Saturday, March 25, 11:00am - 2:30pm

with Ashley Wolverton

11:00am-12:00pm – Introduction to Mantra Meditation
12:00pm-12:30pm – Lunch break w/ vegetarian snacks
12:30pm-2:30pm – Guided workshop to make your own mala

In this workshop, Ashley will introduce the special breathing meditation known as the OM AH HUM meditation. This meditation combines breathing with a simple mantra recitation. Mantra means “mind protection”, and internally chanting these sacred sounds can bring peace and healing and help us improve our love, compassion, and wisdom. Join us as we learn how to incorporate this simple yet powerful form of practice into our daily lives. The first session will consist of clear instructions followed by a guided meditation.

In the second session, you will have the opportunity to learn the traditional Buddhist method of making and using a mala. A mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. For sincere practitioners, their mala is a very precious and meaningful object. During this workshop, you’ll have a chance to create your very own personal mala with the materials provided. If you wish you can then purchase a mala at a discounted rate.

Everyone is welcome, no prior experience is needed. This can be taken as a whole or either session individually.
