We can often feel weighed down by our day-to-day struggles, negative patterns of thought or even just dulled by the treadmill of daily life. In response we put tremendous energy in search of “hits” of happiness from external circumstances ranging from our friends to our phones.

We may wish to change and for our lives to go in a better direction but for that to happen we need to connect with the potential that exists within our minds. The profound tools of transformation within Buddhist meditation give us the ability to become the person we wish to be: peaceful, kinder, more dynamic and confident, happier, more loving. In this class, Ben will show how we can use meditation to connect to profound peace within our mind every day.

So many of us these days suffer due to anxiety, fear and sometimes even panic. In the face of so much daily bad news, and all our own personal uncertainties, is it actually possible to let go of these painful emotions and states of mind?

According to Buddha, yes it is! In this course, our teacher Tom will begin by helping us understand where our fears come from (our mind, not external circumstances) and how, through meditation, we can begin to establish a peaceful place in our mind, a place of inner refuge. Gaining experience of this internal place of peace will enable us not only to let go of anxiety, but also to respond confidently and creatively to those situations that normally induce fear in us.
