The Art of Patience

How to deepen our patience... without being a doormat

Patience truly is a virtue. Having more patience is a goal that many of us set for ourselves, and yet often feels out of reach. We blame others for our anger and then, in the name of being patient, we end up repressing feelings through gritted teeth or holding onto our upset, believing that being patient means becoming a doormat.

But through Buddha’s teachings, we can develop a better understanding of why we get angry, why things so often seem to go wrong for us, and even what it really means to be patient.

In this half-day course Doug will explore how patience intertwines with the Buddhist concepts of karma, delusions and emptiness. From this foundation, we can better learn to achieve a mind of true patient acceptance, one that can help us through the inevitable challenges we all face.
